Safer Roads Ahead: Exploring the Proposed Automatic Emergency Braking Mandate for New Vehicles

As a Tesla enthusiast and advocate for safer roads, I was pleased to hear about the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's proposal for an Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) mandate for new vehicles. This is a crucial step towards reducing the number of accidents caused by human error on our roads. AEB is a safety feature that uses sensors to detect potential collisions and automatically applies the brakes to prevent or lessen the severity of a crash. According to the NHTSA, if this mandate is implemented, it could prevent 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries annually. This is a significant number that cannot be ignored.
